About
The John T. and Agnes J. Gomatos Reading Room, located on the second floor of the Reinsch Library at Marymount University, houses a collection of old and rare books donated by Dr. Peter Gomatos.
Collection strengths include English and American literature dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly women authors; religious and theological works; early science; travel literature; social customs; legends and folklore.
The collection was donated in honor of Dr. Gomatos' parents John T. and Agnes J. Gomatos. Access is by appointment only.
With the help of a Faculty Development Grant, Dr. Tonya Howe has designed this site to make the resources of the Gomatos collection electronically accessible to the public, and to serve as an extensible tool for the sharing of student-authored digital media relevant to the collection. At the moment, this site provides a small, but growing, window into the varied materials available in the collection.
